Kashmir's under-19 cricket side has advanced to the inter-district final after a five-wicket win in the semifinal, setting up a match next week against Jammu's academy champions — widely regarded as the strongest youth side in the region this season.

The squad is built almost entirely from players at two schools in Budgam and Baramulla, a departure from previous years' rosters, which typically drew more heavily from Srinagar academies.

"These boys have been playing together since they were 12," the team's coach said. "That familiarity matters more than individual talent at this level."

The final is scheduled for next Saturday at the district stadium, with local sports officials expecting one of the larger crowds of the youth season.
